Blog: “Trusting God with Everything” by Pastor Chris Oliva
Type of Fast: Liquids all day until tomorrow
Target: Business owners to be blessed
Trusting God with everything seems to be one of the easiest things to do being a Christian, but there can be many times when that trust that we have in God can be tested in many ways. During this time of prayer and fasting we are reminded of this trust; a trust that has been established the moment you realized that He alone is all you need. The bible tells us in Psalm 23:1 “The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not be in want.”
I remember growing up and my mother would always read this Psalm to us to reassure us that no matter what; He is all we need. In him our trust is secure; it is a trust that cannot be broken when God is Lord of your life. In our walk with God we will face many situations or circumstances where we must have a trust knowing that he is still in control.
Prayer builds trust in giving your relationship with God a solid foundation to place your hope in, Fasting opens the opportunity for that hope to become miraculous….
We are all coming together during this 40 day period of prayer and fasting to see God move. This move of God cannot be exercised without first having trust in him to see you through it all.
We serve such a big God, let each of us not become dependent on what man is able to provide, but what God has already given. Miracle Sunday was a day that really required trusting in God, a day that many may have found themselves focused on what we were giving up verses on what He was giving back to us….
I have to say, that when a person steps out of that normal routine of life; God is able to do the impossible. In Proverbs 28:25 the bible tells us “But he who trusts in the Lord will prosper.”
God’s plan calls for us to prosper as children of the most-high God; who richly blesses each of us. I encourage you to build up your trust in God during this season of separation, and believe that it is already being done by a faithful God.
Imagine trying to live a life with no trust or maintaining a life trusting in the wrong things. This life would never truly enjoy happiness, joy, peace or love. It may get you a little further down the road in your journey of life; but it’s not the type of trust needed in keeping your relationship with God intact.
We can learn that by releasing everything to God, our trust in him is made stronger each and every day. Allow the time that you have separated for the Lord to remain a high priority in keeping your trust in Him alive.
