“The More I seek you
The More I find you, The More I find you
The More I love you
I want to sit at your feet Drink from the cup in your hand
Lay back against you and breathe, Feel your Heartbeat
This love is so deep it’s more than I can stand
I melt in your peace its overwhelming”
Song by: Kari Jobe
OMG! Can you imagine drinking from his cup, laying back against him and feeling his heartbeat? Even more so feeling his love so deep that you can’t even stand it? Well, Job had it right! He knew where he could find all that he needed to survive.
Job 23:3 says:
“Oh, that I knew where I might find him, That I might come to his seat!” nkjv
I love the way Job cried out to the Lord. He wanted to be where his Lord was, he wanted to sit at his feet! With all that Job had to endure he wanted to seek after God, not praying for a healing, restoration or even his family, he wanted HIS God! The longing desire of an afflicted child of God wanted to seek his fathers face.
It is our gracious heavenly instinct to seek shelter from all, beneath the wings of our God Almighty. But it is the worldly instinct, when afflicted by trials, or even illness, one resents and may even run from God. The more Job was afflicted the faster he ran to God. He prayed and wanted to be as close to him as possible. Nothing teaches us better than that, to be emptied of our “stinky” selves, from the bitterness, and evil that lives around us. Laying ourselves before our king trusting and knowing that he is going to make things better.
Growing up I never had much of a childhood because of the unhealthy dynamics in my home, but one thing that I was taught as a small child was to run nowhere but to God. When all else fails you know in whom you could put your trust in. Praying not only allows us to be where God our Father is, but it teaches us that he is our refuge, our hope and strength.
A wise woman of God once told me, in the midst of one of my storms, that my situation was No Surprise to God! WOW I almost fell off my seat. How right on was she, a perfect word during my perfect storm! God knows the life we are going to live and just as he was with Job he will be with you!
I leave you with this, in Job 1: 12 the Lord told Satan “All right, you may test him.” “Do whatever you want with whatever he possesses, but don’t harm him physically.” NLT
When everything around you seems to be crumbling down, God has called you to stand! God is on your side, seek after him like never before. You are a child of the most high!
